The Tigers lose a must-win game against the
surging Yankees. Once again their were no umpires for the game. The Tigers
lacked a catcher and put Mark Severs behind the dish. Severs dropped more than
he caught. Pitcher JR Watts threw a great game only allowing two earned runs in
nine innings. Watts was limited to the pitches he could throw because Severs
could not stop a 2-strike curveball. The Tigers have not put the same team on
the field twice yet this year.
